Hallmark’s “When Calls The Heart” Season 12 is over and fans can look forward to another season!
The series was just renewed for a 13th season and we’re so happy for the cast and crew.
Hallmark Channel has renewed the Western drama TV series When Calls the Heart for Season 13. Created by Michael Landon Jr. & Brian Bird and based on the book of the same name from Janette Oke’s Canadian West Series, When Calls the Heart debuted on Hallmark on January 11, 2014. The series subsequently began airing in Canada on Super Channel in 2014.
When Calls the Heart Season 13 has been greenlit at Hallmark Media. The previous season debuted on January 5, 2025, and aired for 12 episodes before concluding on March 23, 2025. Hallmark disclosed their decision while the finale was on air.
Samantha DiPippo, the Senior Vice President of Programming at Hallmark Media, called the fans of When Calls the Heart a “connected community” in a statement. “Hearties are far more than a fan base — they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley,” DiPippo said. “It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor, and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for twelve seasons and beyond.” (via TVLine)
So excited!
Inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West, “When Calls the Heart” follows the story of a schoolteacher and single mother, Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), in the quaint town of Hope Valley. With the help and guidance of the townspeople and her friends, she adjusts to the ever-changing times and the people that enter her life. Other central characters include Rosemary Coulter (Pascale Hutton), Elizabeth’s best friend, once described as “part Broadway showgirl, part Frontier woman, who is also the editor of the town’s newspaper The Valley Voice and a new mother with her husband, the upstanding businessman Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith). Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) has a gruff exterior but cares about the community and his godson Little Jack. Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) protects the town and is also the adoptive father to his teenaged niece, Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller). Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally), owns the town saloon and is a leader in the community with grand aspirations. Embracing love again after the death of her husband and taking care of her son, Elizabeth continues to teach the children of Hope Valley all while trying to navigate the challenges in her life. Watch the series from the start. All episodes from Seasons 1-10 are now available on Hallmark Movies Now.
